Lil Kim and se7en? The ultimate Black Girl Asian Guy collaboration ?
Se7en has been dubbed the Justin Timberlake of Korea or in the entire Asia to some extent. Though I still think Taiwanese Pop King Jay Chou should take that reign.
No offense to what has se7en done to himself to look so credible in the fashion department but obviously se7en stole the entire JT wardrobe on purpose.
I’m not sure by collaborating with Lil Kim is a smart move since the only memories of Lil Kim in my mind is when she did Lady Marmalade with Xtina and Pink back in Moulin Rouge Days and its still haunting me til this very day.
Se7en also collaborated with Rodney ‘Darkchild’ Jenkins (Britney Spears, Michael Jackson, Beyonce) for this US album. The ‘Girls’ music video is also directed by the famous music video director Dale ‘Rage’ Resteghini (Fall Out Boy, TI, Li’l Wayne). So yeah his not making music with nobodies but with some big names to back it up.
It’s also very interesting to see if BoA and se7en will make any mark on the US music industry at all or will they snap crack and pop into oblivion within weeks of their debut releases. Just like how artists UTADA and COCO Lee did not make much of a scratch on the charts.
Time will tell if the Britneys and JTs of Korea will become the next big thing.
PS: i still think BoA has a better chance of success than Se7en.
