MNET MAMA awards 2011 REVIEW - Will.I.Am + Apl.De.Ap & 2NE1 (CL) - Where Is The Love( Replaces Fergie?) plus LIST OF WINNERS!

It was the night of the nights for music of the east but what stole the show was the BLACK EYE PEAS performance with CL fresh from her recent MTV IGGY win for BEST WORLD BAND for 2NE1. Their stage performance got the crowd pumping for more. It was an epic collaboration and Will.I.Am got to get his new single THE HARDEST EVER to be performed live for the 1st time.

Singapore did a good job on the event but last year the Venetian in Macau was much on par with the expectation of a MAMA award show. The only slight critcisim this year is the SM town domination which is fair enough but lets not go there cause we all know JYP and YG family had always taken over the MAMA MNET shows for a very long time since the dawn of the award shows.

Notable winners 2NE1 got 2 gongs. Best vocal ’LONELY’ for a female group BEST SONG for ‘IAM THE BEST’ and BIGBANG ‘LOVE SONG’ got best MV of the year. SuperJunior got ‘BEST ALBUM’ and SNSD won ‘BEST ARTIST’. TABLO didnt win BEST RAP and lets not mention who did win.

But i must say JANE ZHANG did a marvelous job in ‘I BELIEVE’ showing the super voice of CHINA is still around with her hit single being a highlight and talked long after the show eneded even SUZY of MISS A in the crowd was singing along. But it was a KPOP dominated show like always so lets stick to what KPOP does best. Bring out the Dance Numbers!—- Really adore JANE ZHANG. China needs more artists on this level of vocal talent. ‘THE BOYS’ remixed dance number by none other than GIRLS GENERATION was super impressive. With SNSD letting down their guard with their rocking stage presence. Giving a bit of fire and sex in their super hot English version of their 2011 hit. 2ne1 seem like they were super chilled up in the tropical weather of SINGAPORE wearing thick black coats and leaving for sexy for SNSD. Instead they sung a mellow acoustic version of LONELY with a stage set with the girls entrapped in 4 cubes.

But then things picked up for the SONG of the YEAR winners 2ne1 ‘IAM THE BEST’ was electric. FIERCE CL and their NEGGA vocals. And u can see the girls of SNSD proclaiming their love by bumping up and down for those YG girls in their VIP seats. But probably the most controversial performance is B2st and HyunA’s ‘FICTION’ orchestra remix. Since when did CUBE become so awesome! ‘Moonlight SONATA’ with a Twilight reference plus that KISS!! WTF HYUNSEUNG and HYUNA! lol so unexpected so scandalous those 2 little cube TROUBLEMAKERS. I assume CUBE just wanted a bit of promotion for their upcoming new single titled none other than ‘TROUBLEMAKER’ dick tease much? AMAZING!!! Pure perfection despite a few mic adjustments. Technicial issues. argh.
